Description
The Light Box is a tool to help with optical or other visual inspection. It provides a very dark background with side lamp illumination to see scratches and digs on surfaces. It also provides a simple means to check cleanliness. The unit is intended for benchtop or lab use and can be set up easily. The two front doors are intended to reduce dust entering the inspection area. The lamp baffle helps to block intense direct light from the observer’s field of view. To operate the unit, simply plug it in, open the doors, and turn on the lamps.
The side lamp is an LED strip lamp. The irradiance is similar to a 15W CFL. The Light Box inner area is ~20.7”W x 14.7”H x 10”deep. The inside coating is a ultra-flat black paint for low reflectance. The side panels are designed to be interchangeable. The LED strip lamp panel can be changed out to allow a CFL lamp to be installed instead, or the opposite side panel can be replaced with a second lamp option. The back panel on the base unit is black, but an optional configuration allows for an interchangeable panel that can allow a white background to be used also.
